Army with 'Iron Man' suits?
Defense companies are hoping to make external skeleton suits, for military troops, that provide superhuman abilities. That day still may be years away, but Raytheon, one of the companies working on this idea. The main purpose of the suit, for now, is to let the wearer carry more equipment on the battlefield. Raytheon says the suit could have two versions: a combat one that goes just from the legs down and would be primarily used to support a backpack, and a full-body logistics version, which would enable the soldier to carry even more supplies. Another suit is being made by a rival company known as Lockheed Martin Corp.

Caffeine Killer
Can caffeine make you insane and mentally unstable enough to unknowingly kill someone? The Newport, Kentucky jury had that question to answer when a mans lawyer claimed that too much soda, caffeine-laced diet pills and the energy drink No Fear combined with sleep deprivation meant the man had know idea what he was doing when he killed his wife. According to the Kentucky Enquirer his lawyer will argue that the combination of all that caffeine was the reason for his wife's death. The man will face life in prison if found guilty in the trial after he strangled his wife to death with an extension cord back in 2009. It is not the first caffeine-induced defense that has been heard in court. Last year a man was dropped of his charges after he blamed caffeine for losing control of his car and hitting someone on the Washington State University-Pullman campus. The victim was not killed, but had nerve damage and several broken bones.

A new type of glass could help with the oil spill
In Wooster, Ohio a company has invented a new class of chemistry. The company built a machine that they say will help clean up oil spills. The idea the company came up with was glass. Spoonamore, the CEO of ABS materials said they grow designer glass or nano-glass. One glass they tried to grow ended up changing shapes in the labs. They made a glass they had never seen before, a glass that absorbed toxic waste. They named the glass, Osorb. With Osorb and the right machinery, Spoonamore said, ABS can clean up drinking water, toxic spills, even oil spills. It cleans the water and saves the oil at 100 gallons per minute. ABS was hired by BP to help with the oil spill, but ran into some trouble. According to Spoonamore, ABS was not granted a spot to park the unit. In the meantime ABS is cleaning other masses across the country. As for the unit designed to help clean up the Gulf of Mexico, Spoonamore said, "If someone asks us, we're there in 48 hours."
